The Kitchen Studio: Culinary Creations by Artists

Studio Cooking began in 2014 with a question: how do artists feed themselves while they are working in the studio? To better understand the artist division of labor within the context of community-building, privacy, gender, and the politics of hosting, co-founders Meghan Gordon and Arden Surdam commissioned meals, edible artworks, food-adjacent performances, recipes, and lectures.
The series was held at the Armory Center for the Arts in Los Angeles, CA.
